Lil' Krishna Kidz is an innovative program started in Bay area, California to provide an enriching and all round education to kids with special focus on teaching the glories of the rich spiritual culture and tradition of India. Bay Area California, also known as Silicon Valley is the center of all technological innovations in the world and the “Lil Krishna Kidz” program is unique in its approach to teach the timeless Vedic wisdom in a fun and scientific way.
The program was started in April of 2011 under the guidance of H. H. Hanumatpreshak Maharaj, who regularly visits the bay area and inspires us to work towards making a lasting change in the world, through the medium of education. H. H. Hanumatpreshak Maharaj is the founder of the Anjana Suta Academy and he not only engages himself in deep study of the Vedic literatures, but also specializes in presenting the Bhagavata Culture to others in systematic and scientific way. We organize regular classes to teach children Bhagavad Gita Shlokas, Vaishnava Bhajans, Spiritual Stories based on Ramayana and Mahabharat, narrations of the Glory of India, Arts & Crafts in connection with Krishna Consciousness, Dance Lessons and Fun Games. We have three dynamic and dedicated teachers; Ananda Vrndavan Devi Dasi, Bhavani, & Aparna who focus on developing the course curriculum besides engaging in the most important service of teaching to the Kids. Balimardana Das, Hariguru Das, and Vrndavan Priya Das who were instrumental in forming this group with the mission of improving the spiritual educational system in Bay area in various capacity such as assisting in reaching out to parents, conducting advertising campaigns and other miscellaneous services. Currently this program is being conducted in different cities in the Bay area on weekends at various rental properties. In the long term, we envision to have a full fledged weekend school, specifically focused on imparting spiritual culture and value education for the Bay area kids.
At the annual 2011 ISKCON Ratha Yatra festival held at Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, the Lil’ Krishna Kidz also put up an excellent dance performance on the song “Choti Choti Gayya, Chote Chote Gwal…” as well as “Jagannathastakam” recitation. Similarly Lil Krishna Kidz set up a booth at the India Independence festival in Bay area and distributed a lot of children books. At the end of 2011, we plan to organize “Lil’ Krishna Kidz Competition” events in the Bay area. Engaging the children through such educational and cultural programs is one definite way of also introducing their parents to the sublime process of Krishna Consciousness.
