VISION

MISSION

Srila Prabhupada Books are the most widely read Spiritual Books in the World.

Significantly increase the regular readership of Srila Prabhupada books amongst ISKCON devotees.

“Unless we take care of the books and preach and read ourselves, understand the philosophy, this Hare Krsna movement will be finished within a few years.”(Morning Walk — Los Angeles,12 December 1973)

International Shravanam Week (Sept. 22-28) is a direct manifestation of our Books are the Basis project. It is a week solely dedicated to encouraging devotees to read Srila Prabhupadas books, and is an initiative fully supported by the GBC. This year is our second annual celebration of Shravanam Week, and in 2020, the GBC passed a formal resolution recognising this week of September as an official festival, and instructed ISKCON leadership worldwide to inspire devotees to take part in the celebrations by reading Srila Prabhupadas books. This year’s festival will commence on September 22’nd, and shall continue for the duration of an entire week until September 28’th.

We humbly entreat you to help us promote this event, to raise awareness of Shravanam Week so that more devotees than ever will be inspired to read Srila Prabhupadas books.

We’ve attached a graphic poster for you to share with your friends and family. It highlights the simple steps one can take to be a part of International Shravanam week. Please mark your calendar for the 22’nd of September, as this year’s festival shall not only feature inspirational videos, but also live Q&A panels with prominent speakers from across the globe.
