Course Overview

Teaching is one of the most significant forms of devotional service. Through thoughtful instruction, a teacher not only communicates knowledge but also inspires faith, nurtures character, and supports the spiritual growth of others. His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda emphasized the importance of systematic education as the foundation for preserving and transmitting Kṛṣṇa consciousness. Effective teachers are therefore indispensable to fulfilling ISKCON’s educational mission.

The Teachers Training Course – Level 1 (TTC-1) has been carefully designed to provide a systematic introduction to the principles and practice of effective teaching within a Vaiṣṇava educational context. While rooted in contemporary educational best practices, the course remains firmly aligned with the values, philosophy, and objectives of Śrīla Prabhupāda’s educational vision.

Participants are introduced to essential principles of teaching and learning while developing practical competencies in lesson planning, presentation, facilitation, classroom management, assessment, communication, and constructive feedback. Whether participants are teaching scripture, conducting seminars, mentoring devotees, facilitating discussions, or leading educational programmes, TTC-1 provides a strong foundation upon which effective teaching can be built throughout a lifetime of devotional service.

The Teachers Training Course – Level 1 welcomes devotees from a wide variety of educational and service backgrounds. No previous teaching qualification or formal educational experience is required.

2. Teachers and aspiring teachers of Bhakti-vṛkṣa, Sunday feast, School/colleges, youth, congregation, and other preaching/educational programmes.

Prerequisites	A sincere desire to undertake education as a service within ISKCON.
Аттестация	Participants will be assessed through individual and/or group presentations, demonstrating their understanding and application of the principles and skills taught during the course.
Сертификация	Participants who successfully complete the course requirements will receive a certificate jointly issued by the Министерство Образования ИСККОН and the ISKCON Teachers’ Board.
Progression Pathway	Successful completion of TTC-1 qualifies participants to undertake Teachers Training Course – Level 2 (TTC-2). It also fulfils the prerequisite for facilitating several educational programmes offered by the ISKCON Ministry of Education, including courses such as Bhakti-śāstrī, where TTC-1 forms part of the recommended teacher qualification pathway.
